Carn To Coast
This week designated charity event is the Carn to Coast.
Its not everyday that an absolute sporting hero comes to town, but this Sunday, Slaughtneil GAC and Granaghan Outreach are offering us just that -- the chance to meet, talk to and cycle with the legendary Sean Kelly.
The Carn to Coast organization committee are encouraging everyone to pre-register on-line at https://www.entrycentral.com/carntocoast. This will greatly reduce the administration effort on the morning of the event itself. On-line registration closes on Friday night, so please register asap.
Registration will, of course, still be possible on the morning of the event itself, for those who don’t manage to register on-line.
Food will be available to all before, during and after the cycle, but as an added incentive to pre-register, all those who register on-line will get free entry to the post-cycle BBQ, AND will be entered into a draw for a unique signed Sean Kelly print (created by our own club member Victory Chimp).
For those who normally meet at the rec at 8am on a Sunday, you should do so on Sunday as usual. Anyone wanting to go to the CarnToCoast can cycle up to Slaughtneil -- perhaps the Gran Fondo chaps might want to take a wee diversion to gain an extra few miles (eg head via Lisnamuck, or the Lagan’s Braes).
For those who usually meet at the rec at 9am on a Sunday (ie the In-Betweeners) and want to go to the CarnToCoast, it is suggested that you make you way to Slaughtneil instead of going to the Rec.
Sean Kelly will lead the CarnToCoast pelathon out at 9:30am, so be sure to arrive in good time up at Slaughtneil.
NB, for anyone not wanting to go to the CarnToCoast, there will be a Sunday cycle as usual, leaving the rec at 8am.
