Great results for Carn Wheelers at 2015 National mtb championships

The Carn Wheelers Mountain bikers were on their travels again this weekend to the biggest race of the year 

 the National Championships which were held in bike park Ireland which is in Roscrea co.Tipperary .

The course was one of the toughest of the year with very long steep climbs some really technical sections making it a really tough challenge for the riders .As the day unfolded the Carn Wheelers proved they are on a par with the very best in the country with lots of podiums and top 10 finishes .

First podium of the day went to Eimer Skelly who took a fabulous 2nd place in the u10 girls and a national silver medal ,next up was Ryan Skelly who led the under 12 boys for a spell and finished up with a great 6th place finish a result which was equalled by brother Niall in the under 14 boys a very competitive class making 6th place an excellent result.This result was followed up with another podium finish in the under16 girls race where Niamh Skelly took the silver medal after a brilliant effort on the senior course.Our final youth rider was Sean Bradley who has been impressive all season on the mtb and yesterday was no exception where he took 2nd place and the silver medal in the junior men Category .

The club had 3 senior riders at the event with Nigel Gibson in the M30 masters class Nigel has been going really well this year and he took a very impressive 12th place in a quality field of top riders in the M40 vets class Martin Bradley and Gareth Skelly were competing this is as tough a class as it gets and both riders rode really well with Martin finishing in 18th place and Gareth in 29th place in a field of 46 riders.

A huge congratulations must go to all riders who as always done themselves and the club proud at the biggest event of the year well done to you all .
