Open 10 mile time trial at woodgreen on Saturday
Carn Wheelers Autumn
10mile TT.
Well done to David Heagney for organising the 10 mile TT at Woodgreen on Saturday. Here is David’s report.
A bit like throwing
two jumpers down on the ground for goal posts, today's Carn Wheelers Autumn 10
was only strung together a few days ago, but with a bit of work all went
without a hitch.
We had a brutally tough morning. Again. There simply hasn't
been any really fast events this year.
A smaller than normal field lined up due to short notice,
lack of holidays and people resting up for the 100 championship.
Fastest on the day was Emmet Vallely. From Mark Brown, and
the promoting clubs Johnny Taylor.
Eileen Burns made another attempt on the women's record of 21:03, but the
conditions just weren't suitable. Her 21:11 will be her best for this year.
Fastest junior was Chris Surgenor, m40 was won by Chris Beattie, m50 by Gerard
Maguire, and m60 by Sean Hargan.
From me personally. I wish to thank every rider who competed. Carn Wheelers,
namely, Carl Peter & Aidan Higgins for
their help with the admin.
Mary Angela Taylor for donating her
morning to sign on, Jim Burns & Martin McKernan from BRC, our comm for the
day Peter McGratten, and of course Gordon and Alicja for their
timekeeping.
