Strong results for the Skelly family at the round 1 of the NPS mtb league in Djouce

Sunday the 19th of APRIL saw round 1 of this years NPS mtb league take place at djouce woods co. wiclow .

Carn Wheelers were represented by Gareth ,Niamh ,Ryan and Eimer Skelly .

Djouce is a very popular venue for the mtb series and is a favourite with the riders due to its natural rooty trails , technical features and drops .Yesterday saw the perfect conditions for the race with fast dry conditions .

First rider to the line was Eimer and as always she gave every ounce of energy and rode superbly well to finish 2nd a great start to the series for Eimer .Ryan was next to the line in the under 12 race and showed great determination to finish really well in 7th place.

Niamh was next up in the under 16s and had 2 laps of the senior course to complete and despite the challenge that lay ahead Niamh met the challenge head on and showed her technical skills and fitness to come home in a superb 2nd place.

Final rider of the day for carn was Gareth who was racing in the senior 3 categorie with a big field of 70 riders 

Gareth rode superbly well and showed that he is starting to settle into the longer S3 races with a strong finish in 58th place a great result in probably one of the toughest venues in Ireland.

Well done to the Skelly family who once again  picked up some superb results and did the club proud as always .
