ulster cyclocross league round 4

Round 4 of the ulster cyclocross league was hosted by Madigan CC at Seacourt in LARNE .

As always  the event running order started with the youngest riders so first up was the under 6 fun race with Callum Lockhart and Jay Gibson finishing in 8th and 12th place ,in the under 8 race Riley Gibson had a superb race starting from the back of the grid and working his way up to 4th place ,in the under10 race there was a top 10 finish for Rhys Lockhert and in the girls a great 3rd place for Eimer Skelly we had four riders in the under 12 boys race with Travis Harkness finishing in 5th place Curtis Neill in 6th with Frank and Tom Russell also finishing very strongly ,the under 14 were next of with Ryan Skelly taking a 5th place in the boys race and in the girls race Katie Neill had a super race to finish 3rd with Sarah Elder 4th and Darcy Harkness 6th,the last youth race was the under 16 race were Emma Elder took the win in the girls race with Anna Russell in 6th place.

There was another start to finish win in the mtb support race for the in form Sean Bradley and a 5th place finish for Dean Lockhart ,unfortunately in the womens cyclocross race Mairead McCrory had mechanical trouble and was unable to finish .

In the cyclocross B race we had Gareth Skelly and Nigel Gibson taking part with both men improving greatly on previous weeks results moving into the top half of the leaderboard ..

In the A race Stephen Walsh had a superb 9th place finish with johnny Taylor in 16th, Barry Russell was next home followed closely by Joe McCrory and Ryan Walsh with Shane Elder a little farther behind .

Well done to all Carn Wheelers who as always did the club proud with their efforts and a big thanks to Madigan CC for hosting another tough well organised event .
