Xmtb Spring Series - Round 1 - 15 Feb 2015

Carn Wheelers were in action amongst 160 riders at Ormeau Park, Belfast for the first round of the Xmtb Spring Series mountain bike event hosted by Xmtb McConvey Cycles on 15 Feb 2015.

Although overall numbers seem to be well down from last year, there was a great turn out for the club with some great results.

The course was dry and very fast, and as there was no gridding at the first race of the series, all bikes started side by side, which was sure to make a fast start imperative.

The youths were well represented as always with great results throughout:

U8   - Riley Gibson  6^th

U10 - Eimer Skelly 4^th

U10 - Curtis Neill10^th, Travis Harkness 11^th

U12 - Katie Neill 1^st, Sara Doyle 2^nd

U12 - Ryan Skelly 2^nd

U14 - Niall Skelly 3^rd 

U14 - Darcey Harkness 1^st

U16 - Niamh Skelly 1^st

There were also some great results for the adults: 

Senior B - Darrryl Mullan 3^rd, Dean Lockhart 7^th, Gareth Skelly 18^th, 

Junior - Sean Bradley 2^nd

Senior A - Nigel Gibson 18^th, Tomas McElwee 20^th

Nigel really enjoyed himself, and although he forgot to mention his superb jump at the log, in his race feedback, Bronagh Kirk was at hand to capture the action as always and to kindly forward us a link to replay the action.
