Glentathlon 2011 - ARE YOU BRAVE ENOUGH
9/23/2011 10:15:28 PM
Numbers
We have approximately 40 competitors pre-registered for each race (Approx 80 in total) - this is quite an acheivement at this stage and promises to keep the day interesting
The course
From a cycling perspective, all is well and the routes selected are all good quality surfaces. There will be lead veheicles (Sheep Jeep for Orra) and trail vehicles.
Running - There may be a slight change to the Glenariffe Forest park run (the 1st 2km in both Max and Warrior). The potential alternative route is the same distance (for both) and is equally as picturesque (and challenging :) )
Lunch
Booked - and all those who have have been involved with us before will testify that there is no equal to the lunch that will be provided on the day
Marshalling
All is looking good, we have a large cadre of marshalls who we aim to place at all junctions with 2 specific pieces of information 1/ The direction to go and 2/ exactly how far to go to the next transition area (Miles or Kms) - If you are aware of anyone who would like to help out marshalling on the day - please let us know.
The transition areas are being designed within the next few weeks.
Tops
All copetitors will be receiving a specifically designed Technical Top. These are ordered and so far all is good. We are within lead time.
Facilities
Parking / Showers / Changing Facilities / Steam room will be available on completion for all participants if desired
Marie Curie
Marie Curie will be in attendance on the day and will be assisting in Marshalling at various points throughout the day
Spread the Word
The more competitors involved, the more fun for us all. So please invite your friends (and rivals) along to take part for the day. www.glentathlon.co.uk
We look forward to seeing you all on the day. (Any questions or comments - Please contact us on 0771 4205 659 or glentathlon@gmail.com

Opportunity to recruit some descent racing riders over the close season. I hear there might be some around who have become available. Give them a shout if you know them
